FAQ
Traditional astrology traces its origins to the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Greece where celestial observations were merged with divinatory practices. By the Hellenistic period (1st–7th century CE), it had evolved into a more widespread system later refined by Persian, Arabic, and Medieval scholars like Ptolemy, Vettius Valens, and Guido Bonatti. Unlike modern astrology’s emphasis on psychology and self-discovery, traditional astrology prioritizes concrete, event-oriented questions—Will I marry? Will this venture succeed?—through specialized branches like horary (yes/no answers), electional (optimal timing), and mundane (world events). It operates with only the seven visible planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn), rejecting outer planets like Pluto, Neptune and Uranus as irrelevant to its framework. However, I will note that I do look at outer planets during transits and I use them as amplifiers or areas of increased focus when i see them in a chart.
Numerology also traces its origins to the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt. It is a divination system that uses numerical calculations to give individuals insight into various facets of their lives such as their general disposition, talents, career, and compatibility with others. In several spiritual systems it is believed that numbers are akin to unique puzzle pieces or codes that grant access to the secrets of divinity.
Cartomancy naturally builds off of Astrology and Numerology as it combines the themes of the planets, signs, and numbers into a system that allows a querent to ascertain the truth of a simple or complex matter. I personally use the Rider Waite System of Tarot along with the Cardology system for traditional playing cards.
Conjure and Root working are a system of spiritual practices indigenous to African American people. It is a combination of ATR (African Traditional Religion), Native American, and European influences. In my practice, I emphasize the African influences and use the other two when/if i feel called to do so. If there is something you feel thankful for and you want to commune with life or the ancestors about it or if there is something that you need any level of assistance with, Conjure and Root working are the way to secure a solution. I use the divinatory practices of Astrology, Numerology, and Cartomancy to help align my workings with celestial timing. Everything is connected therefore I maximize my outcomes by working within the flow of life. As indicated on my homepage, i’m proud of my dual Alabamian heritage and it is through this birthright that I accomplish all that I do.
